School holidays in the early 1960s were spent on an uncle's sheep farm in Northern Southland where he learnt the basic skills of stock management such as drenching, lambing and shearing. Overview In this interview Isobel tells of her life growing up and living in the Mossburn area on a farm. She recalls getting electricity, the coal range and oil lamps. She learnt to play the piano and played the organ every second Sunday at Church. Isobel talks of meeting and marrying her husband and their 6 children and her interest in gardening and family recreational times. She recalls the community fundraising activities for the new Community Centre. In 1980 they moved to Queenstown.
